We are always excited to meet our new clients! During your first visit, we will discuss concerns and orthodontic needs for you or your child. We will look at your medical and dental history, and before any treatment is started, we will complete our routine pretreatment records which include X-rays of your teeth and jaws, impressions of your teeth, and photographs of your face and mouth.
To make the most out of you first visit with us please bring the following:
- Orthodontic dental insurance. If you have any questions about your dental insurance, please call us prior to your visit and we will verify your benefits.
- A list of all current medications.
Please download, print and fill out the forms below and bring them with you to your first visit with Dr. Bailey.

Getting Started
Getting braces on requires two appointments. Your initial records appointment will take about 45 minutes to make diagnostic x-rays, molds of your teeth, digital photographs and to have a detailed intra-oral exam performed. The second appointment entails placement of your brackets. Your bonding appointment will take about 90 minutes. Once your braces are on, we will review oral hygiene techniques.
What to Expect
Following the placement of your braces you can expect rather big changes in your mouth. Your mouth may be sore and your teeth may feel sensitive when eating. Your cheeks have been accustomed to smooth teeth, so you may experience little cuts or sores. To help toughen your cheeks we suggest warm salt-water swishes daily, as well as orthodontic wax that we provide for you. It is very important that you brush and floss daily; plaque can build up very easily around the brackets.
